Games & Grub is back!

If you know me, you know I'm a hip-hop fan. I believe there's wisdom in it, when you find the right artists.

In the first line in the first song in his first album since 2017, Joey Bada$$ on "The Baddest" simply states: "I can take five years off 'cause my stuff is timeless."

Okay, he didn't actually say "stuff." Besides the point.

Games & Grub finished its four-year run on college radio in May, and it all came and went so quickly. From the outside there was a fortuitous growth of popularity, notably recognized by back-to-back regional podcast awards in 2021 and 2022. When it all came to an end, though, it didn't seem like the end.

Maybe this is why.

After a little bit of "planning" and a lot more spontaneity, Games & Grub is turning pro, starting its life after college. This football season brings about that wave of creativity in show segments, interviews, and new ideas, and they're ready to be published. Some things will change, some will stay the same.

The first episode of the show's professional life releases this Saturday, September 10th, featuring my longtime co-hosts Brian Gallagher and Zack Passios.

A few housekeeping notes:

We are now sponsored by Anchor. The hosting platform that has published the podcast since day one, Anchor (a Spotify company) will now have their much-valued advertisement at the beginning of each Games & Grub episode. Don't be frightened, it's not a robot taking over your speakers.

Our social media handles have changed. Since G&G is no longer airing on Marquette University Radio (MUR), the Twitter and Instagram pages can now be found @GamesGrubPod. Easy enough, right?

Stay tuned to this website for more writing content. Interview write-ups, longer-form pieces, and whatever else that could be of use can be found here on my website. "Games & Grub" has its own page here.

In his rap career, Joey Bada$$ took five years between albums because, in his mind, his content could still bring value over time. I feel the same way about the content Games & Grub produces, and cannot wait to make more.

It's never said enough; thank you to the listeners, watchers, supporters, and everyone that makes this such a fun adventure.

I guess that's why we're back.
