During these work-from-home days, I have had the pleasure of further developing my Marquette University Radio program “Games & Grub,” now in podcast form. What began as a relaxed college radio show with origins in sports and food has turned into an opportunity to gain valuable knowledge on media, business, and the creative content industry. With so many stuck at home — some with considerably more time on their hands — it seemed logical to start an interview series. My co-hosts and I would have conversations with countless successful, intriguing, and (thankfully) available people.
With so many examples already in the archives, I wanted to begin to share the valuable words of wisdom in a more professional context. Creating an article series seemed the perfect way to bring these lessons to light, so as the school year comes to an end I’ll be sharing the valuable knowledge from each guest interview we’ve done. Talking to numerous athletes, artists, and media personalities has brought an abundance of value and I am truly thankful to be in a position to share it all, one week at a time.
Who knew such a silly show could contain some real lessons?
The first installment is available today, highlighting the professional takeaways from our first guest during self-isolation: Pantelis Xidias, the DePaul Men’s Basketball star known as “college basketball’s greatest hype man.”
